I have not read it, but the positive comments on the back from strong evolutionary proponents (e.g. from Purdue, John Hopkins, UNC) make this book a definite to-be-read-soon work.]

[Serious work, by a serious scholar in the field...his earlier work The Two Horizons was a serious interaction with Witty, Gadamer, Ebeling etc...and this work interacts deeply with the widest possible spectrum: Barthes to Searle, Rorty to Habermas, Eco to Fish...a must for those grappling with literary and critical theory issues...highly recommended by NT Wright.]

• Leading Lawyers' Case for the Resurrection, Ross Clifford, Canadian Institute for Law, Theology, and Public Policy (originally associated with Dr. John Warwick Montgomery): 1996 (Canadian ed.) [Fascinating book...I am becoming more and more convinced that the legal evaluation of testimony/evidence is so much more sane and pragmatic than that of specialized disciplines (with their susceptibility to theoretical skewness). This book was a series of articles by prominent/famous lawyers/solicitors/judges about evaluation of NT claims to historical truthfulness. I read it in one sitting. ]
• The Case for Freewill Theism--A Philosophical Assessment, David Basinger, IVP:1996.
• Recent Reference Books in Religion, William M. Johnston, IVP:1996. [Incredibly helpful book. Goes through the major reference books for the major world religions and in the major world languages, and gives a wide range of helpful info on each: strengths, weaknesses, competitors(!), uniqueness, etc. Well organized and very educational to read, it offers tons of helpful research hints.]
• [HSOBX]Hard Sayings of the Bible, Kaiser/Davids/Bruce/Brauch, IVP:1996. [This book consolidates the other separate works by that name/by those authors, and adds some new material. A helpful resource book--I often look there first for 'starting hints' on questions.]

• The End of Science: Facing the Limits of Knowledge in the Twilight of the Scientific Age, John Horgan, Addison-Wesley: 1996. [Science writer talks to all the heavies about the future of science.]
• Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, Herbert C. Casteel, College Press: 1992 (rev. ed.). [From the back cover: "Our legal system requires that a fact be proven 'beyond a reasonable doubt,' before it can be accepted as true. Taking this principle of law, Herbert Casteel, who served as trial judge for 26 years, sets forth the evidence that has convinced him concerning the claims of Christ and His disciples...Christianity is based upon the strongest and soundest evidence that could be brought into a courtroom. This evidence is more than sufficient to satisfy the most skeptical jury and to prove the claims of Christendom as being true to the highest degree required by law--beyond a reasonable doubt." I plan to analyze in my epistemology section his illustration of "converging lines of evidence" on page 34--a highly suggestive model.]
